Crockett County Schools is offering parents an alternative to in-person learning for students.  If your child suffers from health issues and needs to be at home for safety reasons, our Virtual Learning Academy will be offered for the 2020-2021 school year to accommodate your situation.  We have purchased two different online platforms to meet the varying needs of all learners. Information regarding the two platforms is listed below.  If you are interested in enrolling your child(ren) in our Virtual Learning Academy, please fill out the form linked below and email the completed form to your principal by your schools’ advertised deadline to reserve your seat.  Once this form is received, you will be contacted by a school representative with more information.

K-5th grade Virtual Learning Academy information:

Our district has purchased Calvert Learning, an online K-5 math, English language arts, science, social studies, art, and health and PE learning platform.  Students explore material through active learning opportunities that include interactive digital learning sessions designed to encourage independent thinking.  Frequent formative assessments provide opportunities to assess a student’s understanding of knowledge gained.  Lessons include formal checks that assess deeper learning of the concepts.  These formative assessments are aligned to standards, formatted as constructive response, and designed to show mastery.  Students showcase what they have learned in creative expressive ways to demonstrate meaningful understanding.  Please click on the link below to see more information.

6th – 12th grade Virtual Learning Academy Information:

Our district has purchased a subscription to an online course and curriculum program called Edmentum Courseware.  As a part of our subscription, your student can access Courseware free of charge anywhere that internet access is available.  Courseware is completely web-based, which allows students to access the program from any computer with an internet connection and a standard web browser.  Unit activity results are automatically recorded for teacher review.  The program consists of courses, and each course is broken up into units.  Each unit has activities like pretests, tutorials, practice activities, discussion posts, mastery tests, and posttests.  Please click on the links below for more information about the program.
